O násHow does the Drum Screw filter work?
The basic filtration element is a rotating drum with a horizontal rotation axis. Polluted water flows into the drum from the front side and passes through the screen on the drum circumference. The Drum Screw filter captures on the screen the impurities flowing with the wastewater into the treatment plant. As impurities are captured, the water level in front of the filter gradually rises. The filter monitors the water level and when a certain height is reached, the cleaning and transport process for impurities starts. During this process, the drum with the filter screen rotates and is sprayed with water, which directs the impurities into a trough inside the drum. A screw conveyor is placed in the trough and transports the impurities to the discharge chute. After the cleaning process ends, the water level in front of the filter returns to the lowest level.
