Material

stainless steel DUPLEX

We supplied the customer with a complete technological unit for a wastewater treatment plant specialized in treating water from dolphin breeding, whose main purpose is the removal of feed residues and fish excrement containing mainly fats and suspended solids.

The DAF Rectangular unit is a type of treatment device that uses air microbubbles to float pollutants to the surface, where they are then removed by a skimming device.

Type: FH_40

Quantity: 1 pc

Material: DUPLEX stainless steel

Qmax: 36 m3/h

Mechanical pre-treatment: 1 mm, rotary screen

Location: Dolphinarium, Klaipėda, Lithuania

Application
Water in the dolphinarium is 50% saltwater and 50% freshwater. The delivery included mechanical pre-treatment with an opening size of 1 mm, a flotation unit with a U-Tube mixer for connecting chemical dosing points, and a complete control system using SIEMENS PLC with visualization via touchscreen display. Due to the increased amount of chlorides in the wastewater, it was necessary to choose DUPLEX stainless steel, which is a special group of stainless steels characterized by high corrosion resistance.

Our solution and benefits

The flotation unit is extremely effective in removing suspended solids, oils, greases, and other organic impurities. The result is better water clarity and reduced turbidity and odor. Thanks to the high efficiency of the flotation unit in removing contamination, the dosing of chemicals (such as chlorine and ozone) needed for water disinfection can be significantly reduced. This leads to lower operating costs but above all to a reduced impact of chemicals on the health and sensitive skin of dolphins.
