Containerized water treatment plant MINT-ConTech

Complex water treatment technology for a wide range of surface and ground water. Integrates innovative membrane and conventional media filtration processes into one containerized unit, controlled by sophisticated operation software. This ensures safe and autonomous operation while producing premium-quality drinking water. The container is easy to install on-site.

Functionality

  • MINT-ConTech is equipped to remove common undesirable substances from natural water (iron, manganese, arsenic, sulfane, humic and other organic substances) as well as suspended solids, microplastics, bacteria, and viruses – all without the use of chemicals.
  • MINT-ConTech uses unique software tools to autonomously regulate and operate the treatment plant, respond to changes within the feed water and ensure safety of operation. Additionally, the software strives to maximise recovery while keeping track of component maintenance.
  • MINT-ConTech can be used in smaller communities or industrial zones or as an emergency water source when necessary (repairs, malfunction, environmental disaster). Additionally, it can be used as a mobile water source.

Principle and treatment steps

MINT-ConTech can be adapted and modified to address a specific feed water composition or according to the needs of the customer. A general sequence of processes is integrated as follows:

  • PUMPING – a feed pump, regulated by frequency converter, ensures the optimal flow through the technology.
  • MEDIA FILTRATION – a one-pass or two-pass system of media filtration with optional pre-treatment of the feed water and possible backwashing. Different sorbents can be used to remove specific substances based on the feed water composition.
  • ULTRAFILTRATION – perfect removal of suspended solids (an order of magnitude higher than conventional processes) reduces turbidity, as well as colour, micro-organics, colloids and rejects bacteria and viruses. In-line coagulation and feed pre-treatment can also be integrated to remove additional organic substances. An automated system of membrane cleaning and integrity testing is implemented – ensuring safety and reliability of operation.
  • DISINFECTION – a secondary disinfecting step can be integrated by adding a medium pressure UV lamp or automatic disinfectant dosing into the product stream.
  • SEPARATE CHEMICAL DOSING CABINET – chemicals are stored separately and dosed automatically for maximum safety. Chemical storage can be accessed safely through a separate door.
  • NEUTRALIZATION – acid and alkaline wastewater used for membrane cleaning is automatically neutralised before being drained. The containerized unit only produces neutral wastewater, safe for discharge.

The MINT-Pool frame units are intended for the recycling of backwash water from conventional sand filters – optimal for swimming pools, water amusement parks and wellness centres.
