Vertical Screw screen
Ideal solution for fine wastewater pre-treatment Pre-treatment
Vertical Bar screens are among the key pieces of equipment for pump protection in pumping stations. They are also used as a mechanical pre-treatment stage in various municipal and industrial applications.

Straight Screw screen for municipal and industrial applications
The screens can be installed wherever, due to layout constraints, there is not enough space for installation of conventional screen types or where the sewer is laid at great depth – in such cases the screens ensure protection of pumps in the pumping station.
Vertical Bar screens are the ideal automated replacement for outdated basket screens.
Suitable use
- pump protection in pumping stations
- automated replacement for basket screens
- municipal WWTPs
- industrial applications
Benefits of IN-EKO TEAM solutions
- suitable for pump protection in pumping stations
- installation suitable even in small and narrow spaces or where the sewer is at great depth
- capture and transport of screenings
- short installation length of the equipment
- considerable variability of connection methods and conveyor screw length
- full operation automation
- screen function ensured even when flooded in the pit
- remote monitoring – Industry 4.0
Automatic screen operation
Automatic screen operation is ensured by a level probe, which gives an impulse for cleaning the perforated screen in combination with time switching.
Screenings
In the vertical screw, screenings are partially dewatered thanks to gravity and the logic of screw conveyor operation.
Optional modifications
- Integrated press – screenings dewatering
- Insulation and heating
Smarter operation through innovation
In cooperation with partners, we develop solutions that reduce environmental impact – from energy-efficient components to digitalized operation and remote equipment monitoring.
Sustainability as a foundation
From design to operation, our technologies are created to save resources, energy, and space. This is not a trend – sustainability is a natural part of every piece of equipment we develop.
Our goal is to ensure clean water for future generations.

O násHow does the Vertical Screw screen work?
Wastewater flows into a filter screen made of perforated sheet metal, where incoming screenings are captured. The screen gradually becomes clogged with screenings, causing the level to rise. Once the set level is reached, the probe switches and the device starts automatically. The captured screenings are lifted by the rotating motion of the screw into the discharge chute, from where they fall, for example, into a prepared bin or container. In the area of the filter screen, the lifting screw is fitted with a wiping brush for efficient cleaning of the screen. Water free of floating impurities larger than the opening size flows to a possible next treatment stage or for pumping. During their transport by the vertical screw conveyor, the screenings are partially dewatered thanks to gravity and the logic of screen operation.
Clean water is no coincidence.
It is technology.
