The flotation unit is intended for the removal of TSS, fats, and oils that cannot be separated by conventional methods. Flotation is also suitable for sludge thickening and is used in both municipal WWTPs and industry, especially the paper, textile, food, and petrochemical industries.

How does the DAF Rectangular work?
The flotator is a separation unit. Raw water containing suspended solids is mixed in the mixing pipe with any chemicals used (flocculant, coagulant) and then flows into the flotation tank, where microbubbles of air supplied from the saturation pipe bind to the impurities and float them together to the surface, where they form flotation foam. Water is gradually displaced downward from the foam. A skimming device is placed above the surface and continuously removes the top foam layer and transfers it to the sludge trough, from where it is discharged by gravity or by a sludge pump. A level probe located in the outlet trough controls the minimum water level in the flotator.
